Oppo has always stood out for its design, camera, and battery life in the mid-range smartphone segment. With the new Oppo A6 Pro, the company brings a mix of modern looks and strong endurance, but its high price tag raises a serious question: Does it really justify ₹35,000?

Design and Build Quality: Beautiful Yet Plastic
At first glance, the Oppo A6 Pro looks premium. It’s compact, feels comfortable in the hand, and offers a solid grip. The phone comes with a 6.58-inch AMOLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate, making visuals vibrant and buttery-smooth.
However, despite the premium pricing, the phone’s entire body is made of plastic, both frame and back. At this price, a glass or metal finish would have been more fitting.

There are some design drawbacks; the SIM tray is placed beside the primary microphone, which is risky if you insert or eject the tray carelessly. The buttons also lack that satisfying tactile feedback.

Display: Bright and Smooth, but with Some Limits
The Oppo A6 Pro features a 6.58-inch AMOLED panel with 1400 nits of peak brightness, ensuring clear visibility even in direct sunlight. The colours are vivid, contrast levels are excellent, and the in-display fingerprint scanner works fast.
However, there are two downsides:
- The resolution isn’t 1.5K or 2K, which competitors offer in this range.
- The punch-hole camera cutout is slightly larger than ideal.
Also disappointing, YouTube playback is limited to 1440p, not 4K. For a ₹35,000 phone, that’s unacceptable.
Great display quality overall, but it lacks 4K playback and higher resolution.
Performance: Underpowered for Its Price
Inside, the phone runs on a MediaTek Helio G-series processor, the same chip found in many ₹18,000–₹20,000 phones. It’s paired with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
For a device priced at ₹35,000, this is disappointing, UFS 3.1 and 5G connectivity should have been standard.
In daily use, ColorOS 15 feels smooth and responsive, but during gaming or heavy multitasking, the performance drops. It can handle casual tasks easily, but isn’t suitable for power users.
Gaming tests:
- PUBG Mobile: 60 FPS initially, dropping to ~52 FPS after 15 minutes
- Call of Duty: Mostly smooth with minor frame drops
- Delta Force: Noticeable lag and stutter
On the plus side, the device doesn’t heat up easily, thanks to a small vapour cooling system.
Decent for basic use, but clearly underpowered for its price tag.
Battery and Charging: The Real Strength
Battery life is where the Oppo A6 Pro truly shines. It packs a massive 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 80W fast charging support.
The phone fully charges in about 1 hour and 10 minutes and delivers an impressive 9–10 hours of screen-on time.
It also supports reverse charging, allowing you to charge other devices. Exceptional battery backup and charging speed, easily the best feature of this phone.
Software Experience: Smooth and Stable
The Oppo A6 Pro runs on ColorOS 15, based on Android 15. Oppo has refined its software beautifully; it’s clean, smooth, and mostly free of ads or bloatware.
Update:
- 2 years of major Android updates
- 3 years of security patches
The only minor issue: call recording includes a warning announcement, which some users may find annoying.
Well-optimised and user-friendly software experience.
Camera: Average Performance, Not Flagship Quality
Despite having a triple-camera design, only two sensors are functional:
- 50MP main camera
- 2MP depth sensor (almost useless)
- 16MP front camera
In daylight, images look sharp and colourful, but skin tones and exposure often appear inconsistent. In low light, there’s visible noise and soft detail.
The phone supports video recording up to 1080p 60fps, with no 4K option available. Selfies are bright and beautified, great for casual use, but sometimes over-processed. Camera quality is serviceable but far from impressive at this price.

Oppo also highlights the phone’s underwater photography mode, but this feature has already been available in cheaper Realme devices.

There’s no denying that the Oppo A6 Pro looks stylish, feels durable, and offers outstanding battery life. However, the outdated chipset, average camera, and lack of 5G make it overpriced for ₹35,000.
If Oppo had priced it around ₹25,000, it would’ve been a great option for casual users. But in today’s market, competitors like the OnePlus Nord CE 5, Realme 15T, or iQOO Z9 5G deliver far better performance for less.
Buy it if:
- You prefer Oppo’s design and brand reliability.
- You need excellent battery life and water resistance.
Avoid it if:
- You want top-tier performance or 5G support.
- Camera and display quality are your priorities.
A beautiful phone, but not a smart buy for the price.
