Vivo X300 Pro vs X200 Pro: When Vivo introduced the X200 Pro, it instantly became a favourite among camera lovers. But now, its successor, the Vivo X300 Pro has arrived, and it promises even more refinement.

Though both look similar on paper, the X300 Pro brings meaningful changes in camera quality, design, and everyday performance.

Let’s dive deep into a detailed comparison to find out if the Vivo X300 Pro truly deserves your upgrade or if the X200 Pro is still the smarter choice.

Design and Build Quality: More Comfortable and Modern

The Vivo X300 Pro brings noticeable improvements in design. It now features a flat display and a flat aluminium frame with rounded corners, making it more comfortable to hold.

The phone feels slightly lighter and more balanced, thanks to better weight distribution. A major addition is the custom shortcut key on the side.

You can assign it to launch apps or toggle modes, similar to Apple’s Action Button, but Vivo takes it further by allowing both long-press and double-tap functions.

Though the company still hasn’t disclosed the exact glass protection used, the overall hand feel is clearly more refined compared to the X200 Pro.

Display: Flat and Brighter

Both phones use a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with HDR10+ support and 120Hz refresh rate. They deliver up to 4500 nits peak brightness and 1-billion-color depth.

However, the X300 Pro replaces the X200 Pro’s curved edges with a flat panel, reducing bezel thickness and increasing the screen-to-body ratio for a more immersive experience.

When streaming HDR content, the X200 Pro still looks slightly brighter, but the X300 Pro produces cooler and more natural colour tones, offering a visually balanced display.

Vivo’s OriginOS 6 adds a smoother and more responsive feel, making the interface exceptionally fluid.

Camera Performance: Real Upgrades That Matter

Rear Camera

Feature:

  • 50MP primary sensor
  • 50MP ultra-wide lens
  • 200MP periscope telephoto sensor

But the Vivo X300 Pro refines image processing and detail clarity. Zoom photography, especially at 10x, delivers sharper textures and improved natural depth. The macro mode has also been upgraded; small details, like fine spiderwebs, appear with exceptional precision.

Dynamic range, edge detection, and portrait sharpness remain almost similar, but low-light photography on the X300 Pro feels slightly more detailed and balanced.

Front Camera

Here lies the biggest change. The X300 Pro’s front camera has been upgraded from 32MP to 50MP, and the improvement is immediately visible. The field of view is wider, colours look more accurate, and details are significantly sharper.

Video recording from the front camera now supports 4K at 60fps and even the rear camera supports the same, which puts Vivo ahead of major competitors like Apple and Samsung. The addition of Zeiss cinematic filters further enhances portrait videos, providing a more professional look.

In low-light conditions, selfie shots are clearer and better exposed. The only issue found in the Chinese unit is minor video jitter, which Vivo is expected to fix in the Indian retail version.

Vivo X300 Pro vs X200 Pro: Which Is Stronger and More Stable

The Vivo X200 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400, while the X300 Pro upgrades to the Dimensity 9500, both built on the 3nm process.

Benchmark results show that the X300 Pro performs about 30% better, maintaining better thermal stability during stress tests. Heat management remains consistent, around 46–47°C after long performance runs.

Vivo has also adopted a dual UFS 4.1 storage system, improving read/write speed by splitting the data load. Though the difference in daily use is subtle, it helps the system feel slightly faster overall.

In gaming, both handle heavy titles smoothly. However, the Chinese unit of the X300 Pro currently supports 60fps in BGMI, whereas the X200 Pro runs up to 120fps. This limitation is expected to be lifted in the Indian variant.

Battery and Charging: More Power with Same Speed

The battery capacity has been increased from 6000mAh to 6510mAh, offering better backup without adding extra bulk. The 90W wired fast charging remains unchanged, but wireless charging has improved from 30W to 40W.

Reverse wireless charging continues to be supported. Despite the increase in capacity, battery efficiency and heat control remain nearly identical.

User Experience: Smooth and Feature-Strong

The new OriginOS 6 offers faster animations, stronger haptic feedback, and more customization options. The fingerprint scanner remains under-display and performs equally well on both phones.

Audio performance has also been enhanced, loudness and clarity have improved, giving the X300 Pro a more balanced stereo output.

Is the Vivo X300 Pro the Upgrade?

If you already own the Vivo X200 Pro, the X300 Pro isn’t a must-buy. Both devices deliver similar performance in most areas. But if you care about selfie videos, low-light shooting, or cinematic portrait features, then the X300 Pro clearly feels like a more polished flagship.

The design is better, the display feels more premium, and the front camera experience is easily one of the best on any Android phone.

The Vivo X300 Pro doesn’t completely reinvent the wheel; it refines it. Vivo has focused on comfort, front-camera excellence, and improved software smoothness. For photographers and content creators, it’s a solid step forward.

If portrait photography is your main priority, the X200 Pro still stands tall. But if you want a more future-ready phone with cleaner visuals and enhanced video capability, the X300 Pro is the one to choose.

Disclaimer: This review is based on the Chinese unit of the Vivo X300 Pro. Actual performance, colour tuning, and camera optimization may vary in the Indian retail version after the official launch.
